Folks I Follow

Nonprofit AF
Nonprofit Happy Hour
  • A spin-off of the original Nonprofit AF blog! While there are plenty of reasons to swear off social media, this group is one I stay online for.
  • Fresh out of grad school, newly engaged, trying to begin a new career, and planning a move across North Carolina made for a perfect storm of stress. I joined this group seeking resources to aid in my quest. Little did I know how useful it would prove! This international group for nonprofit professionals to share with, learn from, commiserate with, and support one another has been an invaluable resource as I navigate my career.
Networking Women of the Triangle
  • This is another great Facebook group I came across in 2017, while trying to get a feel for opportunities in the Triangle area.
  • Not only are there tons of resources and insights, the admins work tirelessly to keep the space respectful and thoughtful.
World Central Kitchen
  • I’ve loved them for YEARS, they do such great work in not only feeding folks across the globe, but in doing so in a way makes folks feel seen. For example, when Hurricane Helene swept through Appalachia in late 2024, my friends in the North Carolina mountains receiving a lot of quality barbecue that fed their souls as well as their bodies. That’s an essential food group back home.
